This year has been a year where people have literally been cutting down on their expenditure, the credit grind has taken its toll on a lot of families and some families have even lost their jobs and income all in all.

The travel and holidays industry has suffered quite a bit there are numerous families that have not even contemplated going away this year, simply because they cannot afford it. But I am going to tell you a personal story that I experienced as to why British people would rather spend their hard earned money on a new mobile or contract phone.

Ok my phone had had it and I was topping up approximately 40 per calendar month, so I decided to myself why not alternatively go and get a free handset and free minutes for that price. So I made my way to the local shop. To my shock there were literally a ton of people waiting to get a contract phone. I specifically wanted to keep my phone number and have the ability to make free calls to 0800 numbers from my mobile. But it simply would not pan out that way.

Anyway when I was speaking to the sales guy he was literally dismayed at how busy the week had been and said it in no way feels like there is a credit crunch going on. After a study it was shown that 41% would cut down on DIY, 41% on holidays, 16% on Television subscriptions and 10% on broadband services.

An average of £310.71 was spent on average per household on internet services last year, compared to £11.37 in 2007.

So there you have it all in one well formed and great article, you can see the pure amount that technology has developed, and people would rather spend their money and cash on handsets. But if you still fancy a holidays, take a look at this luxury cruises information

The trip my family and I took to Colorado Springs was amazing! We live in Minneapolis so the flight was only 2 hours and the view from the plane was majestic. The mountains were majestic and we couldn’t wait to see them up close and personal. Once we landed, we have hired a limo in Colorado Springs. This limo service took us to or hotel - the Broadmoor Resort.

The Broadmoor is oneof the most famous resorts west of the Mississippi. The golf course at the Broadmoor is one of the nation’s top private courses and they have the LPGA tourney there some years. The rooms are pretty expensive and many of the nations elite will stay here during the summer months. Once we unloaded our bags, we had the Colorado Springs limousine service take us to the Garden of the Gods. This is Colorado Springs most famous toursit attraction and it is a great place to bring your camera. There are some really great rock formations that are amazing to look at and even better to photograph.

After we left the Garden of the Gods, the Colorado Springs limo company drove us to the base of Pike’s Peak. The train to the top can be pretty scary so be sure and bring your motion sickness pills. When you get to the peak, you will be stunned by the view and it’s even better if you go on a day with no clouds. It gets a lot colder at the top and you will notice the lack of oxygen.

Overall, our trip to Colorado Springs was very special and I would reccommend visiting this area to anyone planning a trip to Colorado. There is plenty to do, including skiing, fishing, hiking and much more!

The first snow of winter 2009 has arrived! Even down on the South Coast where we don’t usually get much snow, it has already started to settle. Naturally the kids are getting their hopes up that maybe school could break up a few days early if the snow continues to fall! Of course it’s not only kids who enjoy it when it snows. I am fast approaching my mid 40’s but I still get a thrill with the first snowfall of winter.

If only it could have stayed away for one more week, then we could have enjoyed a white Christmas. Call me an old romantic, but I still get a tingle at the thought of pulling the curtains back on Christmas morning and seeing that during the night we have had a heavy snowfall and everything has that magical feeling about it.

The reality is that it will probably be blowing a gale with rain gushing against the window and all dark and depressing. Mind you that means I can get our coal fire stoked up and enjoy a cosy afternoon sitting in the lounge watching Eastenders and Coronation Street.

Oh the delights of Christmas, it can’t get much better than this, can it?

Well as it happens it does. I have got all the travel brochures ready to go through to see where I can be heading for my next holiday.

I have such a selection, Safari Holidays, Kenya Holidays, Florida Holidays, Las Vegas holidays, you name the destination, I probably have the brochure.

I love looking through the brochures seeing what sort of adventure I can plan and what sort of hotel I can book. Some of the hotel accommodation is absolutely breathtaking and you can choose to treat yourself to an all inclusive deal. At the other end of the spectrum you could choose to book something completely unique and spend your evenings in a tent enjoying the beautiful night sky. Personally I enjoy my creature comforts and lovely as the night sky may be, I need a proper roof over my head.

Wherever I decide to head off to on holiday, I know I will have a great time and enjoy new experiences.

Southern Utah with it’s incredible rock formations is a perfect place for all outdoor enthusiasts. Here are 5 Utah National Parks that you are going to want to add on your list of things to see the next time you plan a vacation in Southern Utah.

Arches

The Arches National is a extremely beautiful park and it receives a ton of visitors every year. There are hundreds of massive sandstone arches in this park.

It is very amazing to think that these all formed naturally. it almost unbelievable that they formed naturally and not aided by mankind.

2. The Bryce Canyon National Park

This park has some extremely beautiful viewpoints. There are a number of spots here that you will be able to see simply spectacular canyon rock formations below. This park does a fantastic job of showing off how beautiful the Utah scenery actually is.

3. Canyonlands

Canyonlands is known for their gigantic Needle rock formations which can be extremely impressive. These huge rocks seem to burst out of the ground and create a large valley filled with these massive sandstone structures. The only bad part about Canyonlands is that it is split into 3 different sections.

These sections are cut off from each other so you are limited on what you can see. It takes at least 3 days to see everything the park has to offer because each section is a day trip on its own.

4. Capitol Reef National Park

This park has some amazing features such as the waterpocket, indian artifacts, and an old Mormon village. The Waterpocket in the park was formed around 65 million years ago and stretches over 100 miles. It is truly a site to see. In addition to this there are also Indian carvings which you can get a great close up look at.

5. The Zion National Park

Zion National park is a great place for water lovers and greenery. It is more along the line of a traditional forest and has some great waterfall hikes in it.

All the Utah National Parks on this list are extremely beautiful and show off Utah’s wonderful land. The next time you are vacationing in Southern Utah make sure you spend a few days visiting them.

You’ve chosen your destination and may have even booked some bargain flights online, looking forward to your holiday, lying in the sun, sipping Sangria and soaking up the rays. But are you a senior traveler and have you arranged your senior travel insurance?

If you are over 64 and looking for travel insurance cover you could run into some problems. Its not unusual for insurance companies to suddenly become reluctant to offer travel insurance to senior travelers for a number of age related reasons. They don’t want to take what they may see as unnecessary risks. They are in the business of making money and would like nothing more than to never pay out for insurance claims. But senior travelers mean additional risks for insurers due to possibly failing health, pre-existing medical conditions and the effects of aging.

So what are the options open to the senior traveler? it is most important that you don’t leave it too late. Make a start in looking around for your travel insurance policy as soon as you can. The longer you leave it the harder it will be to find the policy that you need.

Start with your existing insurance provider. if you already have some health insurance or life insurance then contact your insurance company and ask if they have specific senior travel insurance policies. And if you have a pre-existing medical condition find out if they provide pre-existing medical condition travel insurance.

Always shop around. Even if your insurer provides what appear to be good value quotes take a look around as you may find cheaper alternatives. There are some specialist senior insurance providers who are likely to be able to beat the prices that have been quoted from other insurers.

You may like to consider multi-trip travel insurance, once you have found a policy and provider that you are happy with. Save yourself the hassle of having to shop around and find an insurance provider the next time you want to take a vacation, take out a multi-trip policy and save yourself the aggravation.

Whatever you do, always be honest and open with your prospective travel insurance provider. Don’t lie about your age, your health or any pre-existing medical conditions that you might have. And have a great holiday.

FC Barcelona is a sports club best known for its soccer club, one of the biggest in Europe, 3 time won the UEFA Champions League. FC Barcelona has clubs in the basketball ACB association (Regal FC Barcelona), the handball ASOBAL association (FC Barcelona Handbol), and the roller hockey association (FC Barcelona Hoquei). The club’s museum is the 2nd nearly visited in Catalonia. Double a season, FC Barcelona and crosstown rivals RCD Espanyol competition in the local derby in the La Liga.
Barcelona vacation has a great number of museums, which counterbalance assorted areas and eras. The National Museum of Art of Catalonia possesses a well-known collection of Romanesque art while the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art focuses on post-1945 Catalan and Spanish art. The Fundaci Joan Mir, Picasso Museum and Fundaci Antoni Tpies stop important collections of these world-renowned artists.

Barcelona has 7 beaches, totalling 4.5 kilometer (2.8 mile) of coastline. Sant Sebasti and Barceloneta beaches, both 1,100 meter (3,610 ft) in distance, are the largest, oldest and the nearly frequented beaches in Barcelona. The Olympic opening separates them from the other urban center beaches: Nova Icria, Bogatell, Mar Bella, Nova Mar Bella and Llevant. These beaches (ranging frometer 400 to 640 m/1,300 to 2,100 foot) were opened as a effect of the urban center restructuring to host the 1992 Summer Olympics, when a big number of industrial buildings were razed.

Utah is a fun loving outdoor state which has something for everybody to do. Below is a list of 5 great things you can do while traveling around the state.

1. National Parks

There are 5 enormous Utah National Parks, each shows off the beautiful Utah scenery. From the Arches National Park which contains some amazing rock formations to Zion National Park which shows off Utah’s forests, the state has a wide variety of different landscapes.

2. State Parks

In addition to those parks there are also many smaller state parks that are all extremely fun to stay at. Sand hollow in particular is a very fun family spot because the reservoir has a number of small rocks in the middle of the lake which you can swim to.

3. Fishing

Utah has some nice fishing holes to go to. Visiting the state’s fishing lakes can lead to an exciting time and a great experience. And with the large number of great lakes throughout the state you have a lot of places to choose from.

4. Dinosaur Bones

Another great thing in Utah are Dinosaur bones. There are a number of places such as Johnsons Farm which you simply have to check out as they can be pretty interesting and give us a look into the past.

5. Best Friends

If you have ever seen the show “Dog Town” then you know about the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. The find pets who have been abandoned or abused and adopt them until they can find other homes for the animals. They where one of the first groups to arrive to help out after Hurricane Katrina and they also rehabilitated many of Michel Vicks dogs when they where taken away from him. It is a great place to go if you love animals or want to adopt a pet yourself.

Visiting the sanctuary will help to support the park as it relies on donations to stay up and running.

There are but a few French ski resorts which cater for all levels of abilities, with Tignes falling into this category. In fact, when it comes to variety, apartments in Tignes can’t be beaten in the Northern region of the French Alps. The five villages that make up Tignes offer plenty to see and do for skiers and non skiers alike. Whether you’re traveling with a wild pack of friends or enjoying a peaceful vacation with family, there is a place for you in Tignes.

Les Boisses and Les Brevieres represent the lowest in terms of both elevation and pricing. In Los Boisses, bars and restaurants are generally regarded as low key and are located primarily within the village hotels. Les Brevieres is regarded as a livelier village, with a wider selection of bars and restaurants, however, its still much more family-friendly and cheaper than the villages in the higher elevations. Les Brevieres is a bit livelier, with a wider selection of bars and restaurants, but its still much more family-friendly and a lot less expensive than the villages in the higher elevations.

Holidaymakers who want to do more than just ski will find LeLac offers plenty of attractions and entertainment. Many season workers choose to live in LeLavachet because of the amenities which include a supermarket as well as a wide selection of restaurants and bars. LaLavachet also includes self-catering apartment accommodation.

Its numerous selection of bars and restaurants can become quite lively. This is regarded as a much more expensive place to stay, but it is something of a Nirvana for serious ski fanatics. Being near the glacier, Val Claret offers skiing all year round which is ideal for those whose main passion is skiing or snowboarding

Many people choose to go walking on their holidays whether that is on one of those Galapagos holiday or one of the big active holidays people seem to absolutely love it! However are there actually any decent reasons behind this or are they just stark raving lunatics?

The Air

Believe it or not the air that you breathe has a lot to do with how relaxed or not relaxed you are as a person and going on one of these so called walking holidays can really help you out with this.

Basically most people will go to a higher place when they are out on a walking holiday and as everyone will know that the higher you are the cleaner the air is so walking up those mountains may feel like it’s a bit bad on the lungs but in fact it is really just giving them a good clean out for you which if your like me is well needed. I will say that if you are a smoker you will struggle with this, I am not but one of my friends I went with is a heavy smoker and the first couple of days were very harsh on him.

This is just one of the reasons and there are a lot of others out there.

Another option out there is that you could take all of the family with you and have one of those family adventure holidays. This is certainly something that is worth doing and everyone in the family can have a bit of excercise and have fun at the same time.

So whether it is just you and your partner, the whole family or of course a load of mates that are wanting to go on one of these holidays I can certainly say that it is well worth it indeed!
