| If you are thinking of buying the Save On Airfare Secrets eBook - Hold On!
Wait until you hear my review. I’d like to share with you my opinion of the book. I discovered this guide while doing some research for my travel sites review. I had heard the stories before, but never got to the point of purchasing it. |

At the first glance, I admit I was all too skeptical. I mean with all information freely available on the net, how could this Tony guy who claimed that he was ‘fired by the airlines’ revealed all insider information?
Two sticking questions in my mind. First, is the information valuable? Second, how can I action it right away?
Curious enough, I proceeded to buy the guide. What do I have to lose with $24.95 if it can save me hundreds in the future, I thought.
What I can tell you from the inside perspective is a lot of information presented were tips and tricks - some are general advices that even average people know; some others are tricks that Tony gathered from experience.
Positives
Here are a few points why I think this eBook is interesting.
I like how Tony broken down the sections into 5 sections: the basic tricks, the better tricks, the advanced tricks, miscellaneous and the top secret. He established my expectation that not all information presented are his secret. He acknowledged that the basic tricks might be known to the general public. An example is to book your flight in advance, as early as you can. He went on to provide the reason why. I won’t delve into this article, but you get the point.
For 12 basic tricks, it is not bad, I thought. Some of them are good reminders - as I know I rarely do all of them every time I purchase tickets or make travel arrangements.
Another aspect that I like in his book is his tones of advice and resourcefulness. You can tell that this guy has a lot of information to share - and he just wants to get it across to you. So to-the-point that you can action right away.
A good example when he suggested a trick to save time in the waiting line.
“If you’ve changed your reservation to a different flight and your ticket must be changed, here’s a trick you can do to skip waiting in the long line at the airline’s front desk: as long as your destination remains the same, you can take your ticket directly to the gate and have it changed there, even if you’ve switched airlines or fares. Even though the airlines want you to make changes at the front desk, they do keep a charge imprinter to handle any changes at the gate - which they don’t publicize to anyone.”
At a certain moment, I thought how come I never think of that. It was easy but not apparent. I had some occasions where my flight was changed to a different airline. It would have been useful to know that airline companies can accommodate this service. If you are the only one knowing this trick, you’ll be saving time.
Negatives
Although there are some great points from the book - and I am sure some people have testified that they actually saved some money, I found the book quite unrealistic at times.
To remember all points every time you want to book tickets is quite daunting. To follow through is another task. If you don’t follow through, you won’t enjoy the savings.
As an example, some of the suggestions presented is how to trick priceline system with other online websites to get the best deal. If you are a business man who just wants to travel as soon as possible, this trick won’t do any good for you.
Another drawback is the author’s information is too monotonous. I was expecting more like stories of how people saved money using his trick. What I found were tips and tricks with a logical explanation why they would work.
Despite the negatives above, I still think the book is worth the money.
If you are the kind of person who is into advance travel planning or quick travel savings tips, then this book is for you.
I’d advise you to bring a hard copy with you during travel, so you can flip through the pages and find opportunities to apply your move, you know, to save some time, money and hassle.
