Utah National Parks

Southern Utah with it’s incredible rock formations is a perfect place for all outdoor enthusiasts. Here are 5 Utah National Parks that you are going to want to add on your list of things to see the next time you plan a vacation in Southern Utah.

  1. Arches

The Arches National is a extremely beautiful park and it receives a ton of visitors every year. There are hundreds of massive sandstone arches in this park.

It is very amazing to think that these all formed naturally. it almost unbelievable that they formed naturally and not aided by mankind.

2. The Bryce Canyon National Park

This park has some extremely beautiful viewpoints. There are a number of spots here that you will be able to see simply spectacular canyon rock formations below. This park does a fantastic job of showing off how beautiful the Utah scenery actually is.

3. Canyonlands

Canyonlands is known for their gigantic Needle rock formations which can be extremely impressive. These huge rocks seem to burst out of the ground and create a large valley filled with these massive sandstone structures. The only bad part about Canyonlands is that it is split into 3 different sections.

These sections are cut off from each other so you are limited on what you can see. It takes at least 3 days to see everything the park has to offer because each section is a day trip on its own.

4. Capitol Reef National Park

This park has some amazing features such as the waterpocket, indian artifacts, and an old Mormon village. The Waterpocket in the park was formed around 65 million years ago and stretches over 100 miles. It is truly a site to see. In addition to this there are also Indian carvings which you can get a great close up look at.

5. The Zion National Park

Zion National park is a great place for water lovers and greenery. It is more along the line of a traditional forest and has some great waterfall hikes in it.

All the Utah National Parks on this list are extremely beautiful and show off Utah’s wonderful land. The next time you are vacationing in Southern Utah make sure you spend a few days visiting them.
